Episode 219 – This week, we’re coming to you from Sacramento, California at the 2018 California Craft Beer Summit, and we’re chatting with Chris Cramer, CEO and Co-founder of Karl Strauss Brewing Company.
Welcome to the first of two shows from the 2018 California Craft Beers Summit and Festival in Sacramento, California. This week, we’re joined by Chris Cramer, CEO and co-founder of Karl Strauss Brewing Company. Karl Strauss Brewing Company is one of the most well known breweries in Southern California and has been an important part of the San Diego beer scene since first opening in 1989.
Chris sat down with us to talk about why quality and consistency is important, why it’s important for breweries to focus on penetrating and maintaining your beer supply to your local market, and why it’s critical to have a staff that knows and cares about the product they’re selling.
Big thanks to Chris for hanging out and dropping knowledge!
BREW THE SHIT OUT OF IT.

I liked the anti-minimum wage talk at the end. Damn those servers and bartenders getting minimum wages ($11) to go with their tips!
Alas, it is his opinion, but I definitely hear ya. —John
Word up, John. Thanks for keeping these pods coming on a weekly basis. Having poked fun at Chris I really enjoy K. Strauss beers and brewpubs (and they seem to be quite successful). As they say, “Money speaks for money.”
Thanks, Jason!
