Episode 256 – Tim recently took a trip to Iceland with his family and came back with some stories and, of course, Icelandic beers!
Located just south of the Arctic Circle, Iceland is a country of beauty, intrigue, and a blossoming beer culture. With prohibition having been fully lifted in 1989, Icelandic breweries are playing catch up, and doing a spectacular job of it.
One such brewery that has made its way to the states is Einstök, which surprisingly accounts for 60% of all alcohol exported from Iceland in 2017. Made with pure, natural Icelandic glacier water, styles from this brewery include several witbiers, a pale ale, toasted porter, and a few seasonal specialties.
Having recently returned from a week long adventure through Iceland, Tim discusses his adventures – including gas station hot dogs, a visit to the Einstök Brewer’s Lounger, and a trip to a beer spa – while we appropriately sample some of Einstök’s offerings.
BREW THE SHIT OUT OF IT.
